Bronze Age Centre
At the Folk Museum of Boarp, just outside Båstad, you will soon find our Bronze Age house ready.The house is large, 19 m long and nearly 9 m in breadth. Our building is based on the remains of a real Bronze Age house found in the ground in the province of Halland. Adults and children can here experience the life of the Bronze Age people. Round the house you find small garden lots and soon also enclosures for animals. Craftsmen will work according to the techniques of the age; bronze casting, pottery, flint shaping, working tools from bone, weaving, etc. Together with the Regional museum of Skåne a small Bronze Age museum is being planned in one of the cultural houses of the Folk Museum. You are welcome to follow our work and to take part in the many activities that are already under way for visitors.
Saturday 16th of June 2001 we inaugurate it with great festivities!Directions: Start at Båstad church and go towards Torekov for 2.9 km. Turn left at the sign `Hembygdspark´. Keep to the left of the shopping centre at Boarp. After about 300 m you will reach the Bronze Age house. Parking is to the right of the museum.
